A Note About Covid-19 and Other Viruses:
The CDC advises that washing clothes with detergent is sufficient to control viruses. You can sanitize your clothing: laundering in hot water (160°F) & with chlorine bleach is the most effective method. The CDC also advises that the dry cleaning process & the pressing process is effective on most viruses. The pressing temperature of the steam can reach 250°-300°F.
The higher the temperature the more effectively you can sanitize clothing, bedding & household items. Most home machines will reach the needed temperature, but home owners need to be aware that too much bleach, too high of temperatures, & improper sorting of the items could cause damage to their items.
